Julius Peppers

Just as we were expecting to move into an NFL without Julius Peppers, ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reported he’s planning to return for another season.

"“Peppers, fifth in the NFL in career sacks, has at least one more year in him, his agent, Carl Carey, told ESPN. “Julius, after taking some time to reflect during the offseason, has decided that he still has the desire and enthusiasm for the game, and his intention is to play a 16th NFL season,” Carey told ESPN.”"

It just won’t be in Green Bay. Peppers’ play has gradually declined over this three-year stay in Packers News, and the Packers need to get younger and faster on this side of the ball. At 37-years-old, Peppers’ performances will only continue to decline.

Despite posting 7.5 sacks in 2016, a total behind only Nick Perry, he’s not the player he was in 2014.

He’ll earn a decent contract somewhere, but I don’t expect it to be with the Packers.
