Round 1 – Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State

Bringing back House certainly helps the Packers cornerback position. However, they could still use another starting-caliber defensive back on their roster.

The team now has two tall corners in House and LaDarius Gunter, but they still need more speed at the position.

Conley would give them that and much more. While the former Buckeye tested well athletically in nearly every drill at the combine, Conley’s 4.44 40-yard dash in particular solidified him as a first-round talent.

At 6-feet, 195 pounds, he also brings good size to the position as a boundary corner. The athletic traits coupled with good field awareness and superb ball skills make Conley one of the more complete cornerbacks in the class. While he does need to improve in run support, he at least shows a competitive fire in coverage.

After Marshon Lattimore, Quincy Wilson and Marlon Humphrey could be the next two corners off the board because of their unique size and athletic traits, pushing a talented guy like Conley to the Packers at the end of the first round.
