Round 6 – Aaron Jones, RB, UTEP

It wouldn’t be a bad idea for the Packers to use a late-round pick on another running back, despite addressing the position earlier in the draft. Currently, the Packers have one halfback on their roster in former wideout Ty Montgomery.

Selecting a second halfback on Day 3 would give them more depth at the position. It would also improve their chances of finding a featured back amongst Hill, Montgomery, and Jones. All three have the potential of being playmakers on offense.

Jones is an underrated halfback with excellent speed and athleticism. He also runs with good pad level and can make a living between the tackles, as well as bounce runs to the outside for big gains.

A back as talented as Jones only falls this far in the draft because of the incredible depth of this year’s running back class.
