Defensive linemen

Defensive end: Kenny Clark, Dean Lowry

Nose tackle: Letroy Guion, Christian Ringo

Defensive tackle: Mike Daniels, Brian Price

UPDATE: DT Ricky Jean Francois has now signed a one-year deal with the Packers, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. You can follow our entire Packers free agency tracker by clicking here.

If Kenny Clark and Dean Lowry can make the second-year jump expected of them, the Packers’ defensive line will be in a healthy position.

It’s clear Ted Thompson is looking to add more depth to the line, which is smart when you consider Letroy Guion’s four-game suspension. Ricky Jean Francois, formerly of the Colts and 49ers, visited with the Packers on Wednesday.

Mike Daniels is the leader along the line, and although he won’t impact the game like a pass rusher, he’s one of the league’s best at his position and deserves more national recognition.

Verdict: The line is in good shape, but could do with more depth. Whether this comes via free agency or the draft remains to be seen, but adding more bodies up front is important. Ted appears to agree.
