Round 2: Deion Jones, LB, Falcons

Best player available: Cody Whitehair, C, Bears
Best player at the same position: Shon Coleman, OT, Browns

Cody Whitehair is probably the intelligent pick but I’m a fan not a GM. I can’t help drafting for need. Besides, although Whitehair was incredible for the Bears in year one, Deion Jones wasn’t far behind in the domination category.

Ultimately my decision was made based on how much of an upgrade each player would be. The gap between Blake Martinez and Deion Jones is much greater than the divide between Corey Linsley and Cody Whitehair.

In year one, Deion Jones played over 1,000 snaps and amassed 108 tackles. Even more impressive, Jones had three interceptions, two of which went for touchdowns. His incredible ability against the pass would mean no more subbing in Joe Thomas on passing downs. Instead, the tandem of Jake Ryan and Deion Jones would be a three-down pairing.
