What type of RB should the Packers look for in the draft?

With Ty Montgomery making the move to running back and Eddie Lacy heading to Seattle, the Packers’ running back shuffle isn’t done yet, and they should be searching for another back in the draft.

Montgomery having experience at WR will continue to give the Packers a good option to either run the ball or dump off a short pass to him for some yards. So in the draft, they don’t necessarily need a RB who catches the ball as well as Montgomery.

That said, the Packers would do well to pick a guy that is similar in running style to Lacy. Montgomery isn’t a power runner, so he’s less likely to push the pile the same way Lacy did when he was healthy. The Packers need someone who can pick up those tough yards and even protect Rodgers a bit better when being called on to block, an area Montgomery struggled in last term.
