Green Bay Packers 2017 NFL Draft: Players to target on Day 3
By Dan Dahlke
3. Jamaal Williams, RB, BYU
Williams may not wow anyone with his breakaway speed (4.59) or size (6-0, 213), but he is one of the most physical runners in this class.
He crashes downhill and will lower his shoulder to bulldoze over defenders. He also has some wiggle in the open field to make defenders miss.
He’s a tough, one cut runner with good burst and a nasty stiff arm. The Packers could use a workhorse and physical tone setter like Williams in their backfield. The former BYU halfback rushed for 1375 yards and 12 touchdowns last season, while averaging 5.88 yards per carry.
He likely dropped to Day 3 because of his pedestrian forty time and injury history. He would be a steal in the fourth round.
