Green Bay Packers 2017 NFL Draft: Players to target on Day 3
By Dan Dahlke
4. Samaje Perine, RB, Oklahoma
Serine isn’t the dynamic runner. He’s not going to outrun many players in a dead sprint.
However, he is a big, bruising back who knows how to lower his 5-foot-11, 233-pound frame and punish defenders. He can deliver body blows to a defense for all four quarters of a game.
He also runs well out of shotgun and shows smooth footwork when changing direction in space. He carries a third-round grade on my board.
I’d love it if he fell to the Packers at the end of the fourth round. He’d be a great complement to Ty Montgomery and the weapons the Packers already have on offense.
Green Bay could use a physical back on offense with Eddie Lacy no longer in the picture.
