Several ILBs to Consider

There are just too many inside linebackers the Packers could consider on the last day of the draft for me to jus name one.

Northwestern’s Anthony Walker Jr. is my highest remaining linebacker left on the board. He’s my 84th overall prospect. He’s a tough, active run defender with decent range. Ohio’s Blair Brown is built in a similar mold and is decent in coverage as well.

However, if the Packers would like an athlete coverage linebacker to feature in their nickel defense, they could consider guys like Kansas State’s Elijah Lee or UCLA’s Jayon Brown in the fifth round.

This is the day for Running Back

I already mentioned Williams and Perine. However, there are so many talented backs still available on the board, it would be a shame not to mention a few more.

Marlon Mack was the heart and soul of the USF offense. He’s a dynamic playmaker who can take any run to the house at any point in the game. However, his vision needs work and he dances too often at the line of scrimmage.

Brian Hill is a tough downhill runner with solid athletic traits. He was very productive at the University of Wyoming. Jeremy McNichols is a quick scatback with good breakaway speed and receiving ability.

Matt Dayes is another Day 3 halfback to keep an eye on. He didn’t test all that well, but his vision is excellent and he just seems to have a knack for picking holes in a defense to exploit in the running game.

And then there’s UTEP’s Aaron Jones, he tested off the charts at the NFL Combine, and by the way the Packers are going, they may favor the athletic upside and go in this direction.

The Packers could also go wide receiver at some point with guys like Josh Reynolds, Chad Hansen, Jehu Chesson, and Robert Davis still on the board.
