While several media members are spending most of the week comparing notes on who won and lost the draft, even though none of the prospects chosen have yet to play a single down, fantasy football aficionados are already strategizing about which rookies to target in both their redraft and dynasty leagues.

Fantasy veterans are well aware that running backs are where it’s at if immediate production what you seek. In fact, the 2016 season saw two rookies in Ezekiel Elliott and Jordan Howard rank first and second respectively at their position in rushing yards.

Fellow first-year players Rob Kelley, Devonte Booker and Jalen Richard didn’t come close to matching the production of both 1,000-yard-plus rushers, but were useful flex-type options at various points.

The receiver crop wasn’t as bountiful with Michael Thomas emerging as the sole fantasy stud that immediately gained the trust of Drew Brees to the tune of 92 receptions for 1,137 yards, which put him in the top-10 among his pass-catching peers.

Tight end was even more dismal, as San Diego’s Hunter Henry was the sole rookie that came close to ranking among the top-25 of his hybrid group.

And then came the quarterbacks.

As we all have come to learn, not much should be expected from first-year signal callers, many of whom aren’t up to the speed with the nuances of a pro-style offense.

However, Carson Wentz and Dak Prescott both started from day one and were serviceable at times as fantasy options, but were probably better off spending the year on a dynasty owner’s taxi squad.

The NFC North has no shortage of intriguing rookies with the upside to help a number of fantasy squads. The question is, though: Which ones can actually contribute in redraft set-ups?

The following is a top-10 rundown of how these NFL neophytes out to be ranked in the early post-draft stages along with a parting shot on an IDP option that’s poised to make a sudden impact.
