Having a first-ballot future Hall-of-Famer at quarterback has its perks, but inquiring minds looking for other reason why the Packers are a perennial playoff team should also consider youth as primary component behind their success.

Thanks to the front office’s draft-and-develop mantra, the Packers annually rank among the youngest organizations in the NFL. Over the past five years, in fact, their rosters have annually placed them in the top-6.

This past year was no different, as the franchise featured the third youngest collection of players, according to PhillyVoice.com, behind only the Rams and the Browns.

While several Packer backers often lament Ted Thompson’s insistence to focus on the draft as the franchise’s primary source of talent procurement, this tried-and-true modus operandi keeps the payroll low enough to re-sign most of the team’s top veterans entering their free-agent walk years.
