Green Bay Packers: Top players under-25 (The non-rookie edition)
12. Kyler Fackrell
One thing that Packers’ fans were reminded last season was how important healthy hamstrings are for a pass rusher with both Clay Matthews and Fackrell succumbing to that specific injury.
After an encouraging start to his rookie campaign, the 6-foot-5 pass rusher not only sat out three games with an ailing hammy, but then saw his workload reduced to special-teams duties exclusively late in the year.
Fackrell is determined to be more physical in Year 2, as he’s packed on 10-pounds of muscle in hopes of adding another dimension to his game.
Linebackers coach Winston Moss has reportedly been pleased with the 25-year-old’s progress thus far. The fact that the Packers haven’t added any veteran edge defenders to the roster is a clear sign that they are counting heavily on Fackrell to significantly elevate his game.
