8. Blake Martinez

The inside linebacker’s first year in Packers News had its share of ups and downs, but the former fourth-round pick came on strong in the second half of the year by posting consecutive 8 and 10-tackle efforts in Weeks 9 and 10.

Though he had some missed tackles along the way, Martinez increasingly made good reads as the season progressed while also sharpening other parts of his game, such as bringing down opponents in space.

How much the second-year pro will play in 2017 remains to be seen since the former Stanford Cardinal is more of a run-down defender.

The man nicknamed “Machinez” as a collegian will detremine his course by making more plays behind the line of scrimmage and forcing turnovers in training camp and in preseason action.
