2. Sam Bradford, Minnesota Vikings

Sammy was an outright slinger in his first year in a Vikings uniform by ranking 5th overall in pass completions and first in completion percentage.

Highly impressive stuff…that is until one considers that the vast majority of his throws were of the dump-off and check-down variety.  So, it’s to no one’s surprise that Bradford ranked dead last among starting quarterbacks in yards per completion (9.8).

In real-life terms, the well-compensated journeyman is an average to slightly above-average field general that doesn’t turn over the ball much. He can certainly lead a team into the postseason if surrounded by a strong supporting cast.

But in fantasy terms, a sub 4,000-yard passer with 20 touchdowns and no running stats won’t get you anywhere.

Though Minnesota’s porous offensive line should be improved, so should their running attack with rookie sensation Dalvin Cook leading the charge. That should only serve to cap Bradford’s statistical upside, especially if one factors in a formidable Vikings defense playing a role in keeping things conservative on the other side of the ball.

Bradford won’t be worth drafting as a QB2 when there are other more exciting options available at the end of your draft.

Tyrod Taylor, Carson Wentz and Ryan Tannehill all offer significantly more promise than a frail 30-year-old that has missed six or more games in three of his seven NFL seasons.
