Green Bay Packers: 5 burning questions on offense entering training camp
2. Who will land the No. 2 RB spot behind Ty Montgomery?
Change is in the air at running back. Ty Montgomery, who switched to the position from wide receiver midway through the 2016 season, currently sits atop the depth chart.
That will likely remain unchanged when the Packers kickoff against the Seahawks in Week 1, but the story begins behind Montgomery.
The chasing pack for snaps consists of rookies. Jamaal Williams, Aaron Jones and Devante Mays were all selected by the Packers in the draft, and each member of this trio offers different skills. It’s likely they will all play a role to some degree, but game time will need to be earned this summer.
Kalif Phillips and William Stanback face an uphill battle, the undrafted pair needing to outperform three draft picks to land a spot on the roster.
Assuming Montgomery stays healthy and begins the season as the lead back, who will emerge as his complementary piece?
