Packers: Top 5 lessons learned in Week 4 win over Bears
5. Justin Vogel is the truth
The rookie punter has been on point all season, but his Week 4 performance was particularly noteworthy in that he averaged 47.6 on his 5 punts and negated (Tarik) Cohen as a return weapon in the process.
Vogel’s amazing hang times on his sky-high punts prevented the Bears all-purpose back from having much of a chance to diagnose Green Bay’s coverage unit, as he was limited to 7 yards on the two balls he was able to return.
A first quarter 62-yard delivery from the former Miami Hurricane was a sight to behold that seemingly stayed up for an eternity and landed out of bounds at the 15-yard line.
On the season, Vogel is averaging 45.9 yards a punt with five of them landing inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.
The 23-year-old specialist has become a consistent weapon that can give the Packers the upper hand when it comes to winning the field position battle on a weekly basis.
