Green Bay Packers: 2017 midseason rookie report card
Lenzy Pipkins
Grade: B-
This attack-dog corner is far from being a finished product, but boy is he fun to watch!
Pipkins is a 6-foot corner with 4.46 speed, but plays with the mentality of an old-school middle linebacker when playing the run.
He’s only appeared in three games thus far with his Week 6 performance against the Vikings being the only one of note. In that game, Pipkins acquitted himself well by making timely stops and accumulating 6 tackles, including 1 TFL.
Though the Oklahoma State product shows potential, his pass coverage is in need of refinement.
During the preseason, Pipkins experienced a number of breakdowns in which he either gave up too much cushion to his man or totally lost the receiver he was responsible for.
Overall, he needs to show more consistency going forward, but he seems to be on track to earning a bigger role in 2018.
