Packers: Positives, negatives from Week 9 loss to Lions

Positive: Ty Montgomery still exists

This is not to say that Montgomery had all that great an outing against Detroit, but he finally got on the field after being seemingly entirely supplanted on the depth chart by rookie Aaron Jones.

Montgomery only rushed the ball five times for 33 yards, but was on the field much more than he had been since he sustained the rib injury against the Chicago Bears.

Montgomery caught one ball for 18 yards as well.

Aaron Jones was largely ineffective against the Lions, likely prompting McCarthy to turn to Montgomery more.

It’s never a safe bet to say Green Bay will mix things up, but the team should give Montgomery some more touches as this season continues.
