7. Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State

While at 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds Ward lacks McFadden’s size, he makes up for it with impressive ball skills and blazing speed.

He’s starting in the place of former Buckeye Marshon Lattimore, who was selected in the first round by the New Orleans Saints. Many even believe Ward will run faster than Lattimore’s 4.36 forty time at the combine this spring.

As far as coverage is concerned, Ward may be every bit the player Lattimore was as a collegiate athlete, and he is probably an even better run defender–something that was a major downside to Lattimore’s game.

While Ward lacks ideal size for the position, which could hurt his draft stock, he’s still too good in every other aspect of the game to overlook him. He may not meet the Packers’ preferred cornerback measurables, but he could still carve out a role on their defense.

If they wouldn’t like him as a perimeter corner, he could bump inside and be featured as a nickel defensive back.
