Five players new Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst should target in free agency.

During his tenure as general manager, Ted Thompson wasn’t one to look at free agency to improve the Green Bay Packers.

Instead, he used the ill-fated “draft-and-develop” philosophy. Many times, it would prove costly, as the inexperience would cost the Packers a chance at another Super Bowl. More recently, it kept them out of the playoffs.

With the recent firing of Thompson and the hiring of Brian Gutekunst, the Packers will look to improve the organization through not only the draft but free agency as well. In Gutekunst’s first press conference as GM, he spoke about the possibility of diving into the waters of free agency.

“Our foundation’s going to be the draft,” Gutekunst said. “But I think free agency is an absolute must as an accessory piece.”

Disappointment was in the eyes of fans every year the Packers wouldn’t sign a free agent during the Thompson era. With Gutekunst in charge, the chance for bringing in players who can bring the 14th championship to Packers News seems more likely.

“We’re not going to leave any stone unturned as far as every avenue of player acquisition,” Gutekunst said. Since then, the Packers have already started to sign free agents, including former Northern Illinois standout, Joel Bouagnon.

Who are some of the impact free agents the Packers could sign that could help bring another Super Bowl to Packers News?

Keep in mind, these free agents are in no particular order.
