Jimmy Graham, Tight end, Seattle Seahawks

This one is a stretch. Especially how the signing of Martellus Bennett turned out, the Packers front office may shy away from signing a tight end.

However, production from Green Bay tight ends has drastically gone down over the years. Bringing in a vertical threat tight end with great speed will benefit the Packers offense on so many levels. That’s what they were hoping for with the signing of Bennett. Unfortunately, those plans never came into fruition.

After Graham was traded to Seattle in 2015, his production considerably went down. It could be due to the offensive system the Seahawks run, a West Coast offense, which is best described in this Wikipedia post:

"“Characterized by short, horizontal passing routes in lieu of running plays to “stretch out” defenses, opening up the potential for long runs or long passes.”"

Graham does not fit that scheme at all. He is more of a vertical threat tight end with explosive speed. That is something the Packers haven’t had since the days of Jermichael Finley.

Graham is 31-years-old, but he still has a lot left and can make a huge impact if put in the right offensive scheme, like the one that is in place in Green Bay.
