The Green Bay Packers aren’t concerned about Kevin King’s shoulder injury.

Welcome to the Packers News Report.

New general manager Brian Gutekunst isn’t worried about Kevin King’s shoulder and doesn’t believe the second-round draft choice has any long-term concerns, according to Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

That’s encouraging news, because King played well when healthy. It was obvious he was struggling with the shoulder injury in his final few games, and the smart decision was soon made to shut him down for the year.

The Senior Bowl is an interesting topic this week, and Lombardi Ave’s Keegan Jackish has written an excellent in-depth article on prospects Green Bay should have interest in.

The Packers News Report also features a piece on free agency, as well as Rob Demovsky’s article on Mike Pettine.

Jeff Janis’ time could be up in Green Bay [Lombardi Ave]

Jeff Janis is a favorite among fans, but he’s never been able to translate his size, speed and athleticism into production as a wide receiver. Is his work on special teams enough to land him a new contract?

Free agency is a must for 2018 Packers [Lombardi Ave]

If Green Bay has any hopes of returning to the Super Bowl next year, it must be an active participant in free agency. There are too many needs on the roster that sticking exclusively to the draft won’t be enough.
