Packers 2018 Draft: Three-round mock draft
Round 2: Dallas Goedert, TE, South Dakota State
Green Bay heads into the 2018 NFL Draft with uncertainty surrounding the tight end position.
Two offseasons ago, the Packers ventured into free agency to bring in veteran Jared Cook. Cook struggled to stay healthy, but provided a much needed spark from the position when he was on the field, specifically the playoffs.

Last year, the Packers opted to let Cook go and sign former Super Bowl champion Martellus Bennett. To say the Bennett signing was a bust is an understatement. Bennett could not stay on the field, struggled with drops and had an ugly exit from Green Bay.
With that being said, insert Dallas Goedert.
Goedert had an extremely successful FCS career with the South Dakota Jackrabbits.
He finished his career with 198 receptions, 2,988 yards and 21 touchdowns. Goedert is third in career receptions at South Dakota State, fourth in receiving yards and fifth in school history in touchdown receptions.
The 6-foot-5 tight end may be a small school product, but he has all the tools to be an impact player in the NFL. His size alone will present issues for defensive backs and his speed makes him an even bigger mismatch for linebackers.
Like any small school prospect, there are some concerns about the competition he faced while in college.
Goedert would help stretch the field for the Packers offense and his athleticism is exactly what Aaron Rodgers and company have been looking for from the tight end position.
