Packers free agency 2018: Predictions for each free agent
Richard Rodgers
The Packers’ free agency moves at tight end backfired last season. The team replaced Jared Cook with Martellus Bennett and Lance Kendricks. Bennett was cut in midseason, and Kendricks has yet to make a significant impact.
So, where does this leave Richard Rodgers?

A third-round selection four years ago, Rodgers’ numbers have continued to decline since his 510-yard, eight-touchdown campaign in 2015. This past season he caught just 12 passes for 160 yards and a score.
Rodgers has good hands and is at his best in the red zone. And of course, his incredible Hail Mary grab to give the Packers victory in Detroit will never be forgotten.
At worst, Rodgers adds depth to the position. He has made some big plays in his four-year career in Green Bay, and it’s unlikely he will cost much money to bring back.
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the Packers have spoken to Rodgers’ agent about a potential deal. Given the team’s need at the position, they may look to re-sign Rodgers to ensure they have some depth.
I could easily see the Packers deciding to move on from Rodgers, but Demovsky’s report suggests he will receive a new deal to remain in Green Bay.
Prediction: Re-signs with the Packers
