Re-sign or let walk: Packers free agency predictions
Who should the Green Bay Packers re-sign, and who should they let walk?
Nine players are expected to hit the free agent market when the new league year begins on Wednesday.
The Green Bay Packers have had a history of not re-signing key contributors in free agency. However, that philosophy is likely to change with new GM Brian Gutekunst.
Gutekunst spoke a good amount about the upcoming free agency period at the NFL combine. Here is what he had to say:
"“Obviously, there are limits in what you can do, but we’d like to be really aggressive to see if we can be in every conversation.”"
He spoke more about bringing in new talent rather than re-signing current players, but you have to think this holds true for some of the players that could be on their way out of Green Bay.
Before the 2017 season even ended, however, the Packers re-signed two of their biggest pending free agents, Davante Adams and Corey Linsley.
That leaves nine free agents. Of those, the most notable are Morgan Burnett, Richard Rodgers, Jahri Evans and Davon House.
Who should the Packers re-sign and who should they let walk in free agency? Obviously, they won’t re-sign all nine, but there are some key players who the Packers need to bring back.
