The latest Green Bay Packers seven-round mock draft following the first wave of free agency.

The Green Bay Packers have 12 picks in the 2018 NFL Draft, which is the most of any team in the league. It’s a good thing since the Packers have so many needs to fill. New general manager Brian Gutekunst has addressed some needs for the team, but has created others.

Jimmy Graham is now a Packer so I won’t be looking at tight ends as early. Morgan Burnett is out, as are Jordy Nelson and Damarious Randall. Those positions are all addressed early in this mock draft.

Having 12 picks gives a team a lot of freedom. Obviously there are more chances to win the lottery. The draft is a crap shoot. The more shots you have, the better your odds are at hitting.

More importantly, the plethora of picks allows for the Packers to trade up without mortgaging much of their future assets. With holes in the secondary and so many good players at those positions, I wouldn’t be surprised if Gutekunst makes a move up for a guy at a position of need.

The Packers draft picks are as follows:

  • Round 1: Pick 14
  • Round 2: Pick 45
  • Round 3: Pick 76
  • Round 4: Picks 101, 133
  • Round 5: Picks 138, 172, 174
  • Round 6: Picks 186, 207
  • Round 7: Picks 232, 239

Gutekunst has the picks at his disposal that Ted Thompson didn’t have. It’s not very Packer-like to trade up in the draft, but this year isn’t like most years.
