The Packers have two major needs this offseason. One is to fix the cornerback position. The other is to add more talent to the pass rush.

Here, Gutekunst uses the 14th overall pick, his first as general manager, to help the Packers get more pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

There are a number of ways this pick could play out. A lot will depend on how many quarterbacks come off the board inside the top-10. If three or more are gone, the odds of a potential difference-maker at corner like Denzel Ward dropping to No. 14 increases. In this scenario, the likes of Ward, Tremaine Edmunds and Minkah Fitzpatrick are all gone.

Enter Harold Landry. He is becoming a popular choice to the Packers in mock drafts, and for good reason.

Landry is one of the top pass rushers in the class and could help the defense from Day 1. Lance Zierlein of NFL.com believes he has Pro Bowl potential:

"“Landry can get by as an NFL rusher with just speed and athleticism, but he has an opportunity to become a Pro Bowler if he can improve his hand usage and develop an inside counter.”"

Landry wouldn’t need to be the Packers’ premier edge rusher right away. In the short term he would form a strong trio alongside Clay Matthews and Nick Perry. Along with the signing of Muhammad Wilkerson, the potential of Reggie Gilbert and the hiring of Mike Pettine as defensive coordinator, the Packers’ pass rush could significantly improve.
