Packers 2018 mock draft roundup: Edge rushers, cornerbacks in focus
Edge rushers
The Packers desperately need to get more pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Nick Perry and Clay Matthews are important players, but have both struggled to stay healthy.
Vince Biegel will be expected to step up with a full offseason, and there is a lot to like about Reggie Gilbert’s potential.
But adding an edge rusher early in the draft remains a top priority. Gutekunst could look to strengthen the pass rush in the first round. Here are a couple of names:
Joe Romano of FanSided: Marcus Davenport, UTSA
Davenport is the selection in the latest FanSided mock. The 6-foot-6, 264-pounder has a ton of potential, but he would be a risky pick for Gutekunst and the Packers as high as No. 14. Some draft analysts believe he’ll drop to the 20s. Full FanSided mock draft
Luke Easterling of Draft Wire: Harold Landry, Boston College
Landry is a popular name among a number of Packers fans. One of the best defensive prospects in the class, and at a position of need for the Packers, few could have complaints about this pick at No. 14. Full Draft Wire mock draft
Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports: Marcus Davenport, UTSA
Davenport has been the choice for Green Bay in a number of mocks this offseason. Bradley Chubb will almost certainly be gone by the time the Packers pick. If Gutekunst wants to select an edge rusher first, it will likely come down to Davenport and Landry. Full CBS Sports mock draft
