Edge rushers

The Packers have a pair of talented pass rushers in Clay Matthews and Nick Perry. But they need more. Sure, Reggie Gilbert has fans excited and could become an important contributor on defense this year. Vince Biegel, too, will be expected to improve with a full offseason to prepare. It’s tough to judge his rookie campaign due to the injury he had to overcome.

But injuries have been problematic for Matthews and Perry, too, and it’s crucial the Packers bolster the pass rush this offseason. Finding an edge rusher won’t be easy due to a pretty thin class, so Gutekunst should look to draft one early.

Dan Parzych of NFL Spin Zone: Marcus Davenport, UTSA *Trade*

This mock has the Packers trading down three spots with the Chargers. Los Angeles moves up for a quarterback, Green Bay slides down and still drafts one of the top edge rushers in the class. The Packers could expect a third or fourth-round pick in a trade similar to this one. Gutekunst could still upgrade a position of need, but add a bonus pick. Full NFL Spin Zone mock draft

Richard Janvrin of Bleacher Report: Marcus Davenport, UTSA *Trade*

Now this mock draft is fun. Here the Packers trade down with the Patriots, receiving both of their first-round picks in exchange (No. 23 and No. 31). At No. 23, Green Bay selects Davenport. This way, Gutekunst doesn’t have to use a top-15 pick on Davenport, and he gets another first-rounder in return. Spoiler: the second first-rounder is used on a cornerback.
