Packers 2018 schedule: Biggest storylines for each game
Week 5: Detroit Lions (And Week 17)
Last season was the first time since the early 90s that the Detroit Lions swept the Packers in the regular season.
The Lions escaped from facing Rodgers last year because of his injury, but he has dominated against the NFC North rival.
In 16 total games, Rodgers holds a 13-3 record vs. the Lions. In that stretch he threw for 4,065 yards, 34 touchdowns and only six interceptions.
Just like last season, the Packers will finish off their 2018 year at home against the Lions.
Week 6: San Francisco 49ers (Home)
It’s a new era in San Francisco and it features quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
Last season Garoppolo had a perfect 5-0 record as a starting quarterback. He threw for 1,560 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions. Will his success continue in 2018? Time will tell.
The Packers have not defeated the 49ers at home since 2010. Most Packers fans should remember the last time the 49ers were in town — Colin Kaepernick ran all over Green Bay’s defense.
This will be Green Bay’s second primetime game of the year.
Week 7: Bye
Week 8: LA Rams (Away)
The tough stretch of the 2018 season begins after the bye.
Last season, the Rams had an impressive regular season record of 11-5, but were eliminated in their first postseason game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Quarterback Jared Goff made strides in the right direction, in terms of development and skill-set. Wade Phillips’ tenacious defense was a force all season long and will be dominant again.
This will be the first time in 28 years that Green Bay travels to LA to play in the Coliseum.
Rodgers has a perfect 4-0 record against the Rams, but this will be the first time he plays them under the LA title.
