There has been a positive reaction on Twitter to the Green Bay Packers’ second-round selection of cornerback Josh Jackson.

Cornerback was easily the Green Bay Packers’ biggest need entering the spring. The urgency increased when new general manager Brian Gutekunst traded away Damarious Randall.

But he’s since brought back Tramon Williams and re-signed Davon House to add experience. The focus then shifted to adding young talent in the draft.

So far, so good. In two rounds, Gutekunst has selected two of the draft’s premier cornerbacks. To get Jackson at No. 45 was surprising, and great value.

Let’s take a look at some of the top Twitter reactions to the pick.

Mike Daniels wanted the Packers to select Jackson. It’s fair to say he’s happy that it happened.

Packers first-round pick Jaire Alexander is excited to play alongside Jackson in Green Bay.

Pro Football Focus are also impressed.

Cornerback was a weakness entering the offseason. A trio of Jackson, Alexander and second-year Kevin King could go a long way to changing that.

More on that trio…

Excited yet? And that’s before we include returning veteran Williams, whose experience will be key in the secondary.

One person that has to be pleased is new defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. He needed talented cornerbacks to work with, and he’s got them.

It’s hard not to be pleased with Brian Gutekunst’s work so far.

With two picks in the bag, here’s a look at the team’s remaining picks:

  • Round 4, Pick 1 (101 overall)
  • Round 4, Pick 33 (133)
  • Round 5, Pick 1 (138)
  • Round 5, Pick 10 (147)
  • Round 5, Pick 35 (172)
  • Round 5, Pick 37 (174)
  • Round 6, Pick 33 (207)
  • Round 7, Pick 14 (232)
  • Round 7, Pick 21 (239)
  • Round 7, Pick 30 (248)

Don’t be surprised if Gutekunst uses some of these Day 3 selections to move up at some stage.
