Wide receivers (7)

Wide receivers: Davante Adams, Randall Cobb, Geronimo Allison, J’Mon Moore, Michael Clark, Equanimeous St. Brown, Marquez Valdes-Scantling

The Jordy Nelson era is over, and the Packers spent three draft picks at the wide receiver position.

For now I have seven receivers making the roster, but this could easily be trimmed down to six. DeAngelo Yancey, a fifth-round draft choice a year ago, misses out. Speedster Trevor Davis also fails to make the 53.

I currently having all of this year’s draft picks — J’Mon Moore, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown — making the team. Moore, in my opinion, has the most upside and could see the majority of snaps of the rookies. Michael Clark also makes the roster.

Davante Adams is the clear No. 1 receiver in Green Bay now. He’s due his first 1,000-yard season, and has shown how effective he is in the red zone with 22 touchdowns to his name in the past two seasons. Adams has built chemistry with Aaron Rodgers over the years, and could be in line for a huge 2018.

Randall Cobb could see additional targets with Nelson no longer there. He’s still a valuable piece in Mike McCarthy’s offense.

Geronimo Allison has played well when the Packers have needed him, and he will begin the season as the No. 3 receiver on the depth chart.

If at least one of the rookie receivers can make an immediate impact, the Packers’ passing game will be in great shape.
