Packers 53-man roster predictions following 2018 NFL Draft
Defensive linemen (5)
Defensive linemen: Mike Daniels, Kenny Clark, Muhammad Wilkerson, Dean Lowry, Montravius Adams
Arguably the Packers’ deepest position group, the defensive line got even stronger this offseason with the signing of Muhammad Wilkerson. A trio of Wilkerson, Mike Daniels and Kenny Clark is about as good as you’ll find in the NFL. It’s going to be fun to see what they can do together with new defensive coordinator Mike Pettine.
Wilkerson is a two-time All-Pro and one-time Pro Bowler. He joins the Packers on a one-year “prove it” deal. His experience working with Pettine will help. Daniels has long been the best player on Green Bay’s defense and was finally selected to the Pro Bowl last season. Clark played at a high level in his second season. It’s only a matter of time before he’s playing in Pro Bowls too.
Dean Lowry and Montravius Adams give the Packers solid depth along the line. Adams missed time due to injury in his rookie season. The Packers will be hoping he can stay healthy make a big second-year jump.
Green Bay’s defensive line was its only real strength on defense last year. With the addition of Wilkerson, and Pettine as the defensive coordinator, the group could get even better in 2018.
