12. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers just missed out on the playoffs last year, but their roster is talented enough to make it this time. I’m excited to see Derwin James joining their secondary. He’ll work alongside former Packer and two-time All-Pro Casey Hayward. I think the Chargers could surprise a few people and win the AFC West.

11. Houston Texans

Houston made some strong moves in free agency, signing cornerback Aaron Colvin and safety Tyrann Mathieu. The reason why they rank this high is simple: Deshaun Watson. Assuming he’s fully healthy, Watson could take this team back to the playoffs in 2018. The Texans will be a fun team to watch.

10. Carolina Panthers

D.J. Moore could be a big addition to the Carolina offense. The Panthers had a solid draft, focusing on cornerback in the second and third rounds, adding Donte Jackson and Rashaan Gaulden. I have them as the third-ranked team in the NFC South, which goes to show how talented this division is.

9. Pittsburgh Steelers

A lot is being made of the quarterback situation in Pittsburgh, but by September we’ll have moved on. Expect more of the same from the Steelers. They will once again be one of the AFC’s premier teams, win the division but fall just short of the Super Bowl.
