Green Bay Packers game-by-game predictions for 2018 season
Week 11: at Seattle Seahawks
The 2018 matchup will be the fifth time in a row the Packers and Seahawks will meet during the regular season. It’s the sixth time since 2012.
The home team has won all six of those matchups, with the Packers winning the last three at Lambeau.
The Seahawks are a different team this time around. Gone are the days of “Legion of Boom”, after cornerback Richard Sherman left for the 49ers. Safety Kam Chancellor has not gained clearance after suffering a neck injury.
On the offensive side, the Seahawks lost tight end Jimmy Graham and wide receiver Paul Richardson. While they made moves to combat the losses, they didn’t do enough. They also didn’t address the offensive line well enough to protect quarterback Russell Wilson.
The Packers are viewed as the most improved team, while the Seahawks have only gotten worse. As has been the theme, this game will depend on how well the Packers’ defense meshes with the new schemes.
There are two things in the Seahawks’ favor for this game. First is always the “12th Man”. CenturyLink Field is regarded as one of the toughest stadiums to play. Second, the short week. Short weeks tend to favor the home team.
Prediction: Packers 24, Seahawks 13 (7-3)
