Week 5: at Detroit Lions

After Week 4, the games starting getting really interesting for the Packers. Aside from last year, when Aaron Rodgers missed the game through injury, it seems the two teams play evenly matched in Detroit.

The Lions have a different kind of shakeup as they replaced head coach Jim Caldwell with Matt Patricia. Patricia is bringing his defensive mind to a team that ranked 21st in points and 27th in total yards defensively last year.

Patricia will try to stop the likes of Rodgers and Kirk Cousins while trying to get Matthew Stafford to the next level.

The biggest acquisition this offseason has been hiring Patricia. Other than that, Detroit added LeGarrette Blount to its backfield.

In this game, the new Packers’ secondary will be tested. Wide receiver Marvin Jones has tested the Packers since joining Detroit, scoring in all but one game while putting up at least 75 yards.

This is another game where someone other than Davante Adams will need to step up. Adams has never posted a game over 100 yards against the Lions. He will be matched up against cornerback Darius Slay leaving others to make a play.

Here, the Packers will suffer their first loss of the season.

Prediction: Lions 27, Packers 24 (4-1)
