Green Bay Packers game-by-game predictions for 2018 season
Week 8: at Los Angeles Rams
Last year, the Packers suffered just their third loss coming out of bye week under head coach Mike McCarthy. He has a record of 9-3 after the bye. The first two losses came against teams that were undefeated, while last year was against Detroit.
The Los Angeles Rams are a team that is on a mission. In his first year as head coach, Sean McVay led the Rams to an 11-5 record and into the playoffs.
How do you improve on an 11-5 record?
By trading for star players. The Rams traded for cornerbacks Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib. They also added wide receiver Brandin Cooks from the Patriots.
Along with the trades, they added to their formidable defensive line with Ndamukong Suh. All while losing cornerback Trumaine Johnson, linebacker Alec Ogletree and defensive end Robert Quinn.
The new-look Green Bay defense under Mike Pettine will need to live up to expectations to come out victorious. Stopping running back Todd Gurley will be the key to success. Last year, the offense went through him whether it was on the ground or through the air.
The Rams will play fast and furious, especially with the addition of Cooks.
Prediction: Rams 28, Packers 20 (5-2)
