1. What role will Montgomery have in 2018?

A year ago Montgomery was the Packers’ lead running back. He was the featured back for the start of the season, and played well before getting hurt. But considering how well Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams played last season, it’s hard to see Montgomery taking back the starting job right away.

Jones would be my pick to start Week 1. He looked more comfortable in Green Bay’s offense with Aaron Rodgers than Williams, who played at his best with Brett Hundley in at quarterback.

So if Montgomery is the third running back on the depth chart, what kind of role will he have in 2018? According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Mike McCarthy sees Montgomery taking on more of a hybrid role this year.

Montgomery’s versatility makes him such a tough player to defend. McCarthy can line him up in the backfield, in the slot or out wide. He can do just about everything.

How many carries will he get this season? How many catches?

A lot will depend not only on whether Montgomery can stay healthy, but also Jones and Williams.
