Geronimo Allison

Geronimo Allison is projected to be the Packers’ third wide receiver and the in-house favorite to replace Jordy Nelson’s vacant spot. But what may be a surprise is that I don’t believe Allison is the guy for the job.

Allison really only had two memorable moments last season. The big catch in overtime versus the Cincinnati Bengals to help win the Packers that game. But also the fumble on a drive to tie the game against the Carolina Panthers, which essentially ended the Green Bay Packers’ season.

Although so far during OTAs, signs out of Packers practices are that Allison has done well, according to Andy Herman of Cheesehead TV. Herman noted some standouts at practice last week:

However, Allison hasn’t passed the so-called eye test so far in my opinion. Those above him on this list have flashed when on the field one way or another.

Allison will most likely start the season as the number three wide receiver, but come midway or towards the end of the season, he’ll be fourth on the wide receiver depth chart.

Allison’s numbers will start strong but fade off towards the end. Expect around 30-35 receptions, and somewhere around 300 receiving yards and four touchdowns for Allison in 2018.

Prediction: 300 receiving yards, four touchdowns
