What are the top three questions facing Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Clay Matthews in 2018?

The Green Bay Packers’ all-time sack leader, Clay Matthews continues to play an important role on defense as he enters his 10th season with the team.

With 81 regular season sacks to his name, Matthews has put together a legendary career in Green Bay, but it’s not over yet. The 32-year-old is still one of the most important players on the team, and that will continue to be the case under new defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. It will be fascinating to see how Pettine plans to use his top pass rusher.

New general manager Brian Gutekunst didn’t appear to be as concerned at outside linebacker as many of us were. He waited until the seventh round of April’s draft to select an edge rusher, and he also didn’t go after one of the top edge rushers in free agency. Gutekunst did strengthen the defensive line with Muhammad Wilkerson. Wilkerson will help add interior pressure up front.

Gutekunst instead focused on strengthening the secondary. He signed cornerback Tramon Williams, who last played for the Packers back in 2014. Gutekunst also used his top two draft picks on corners Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson.

What are the biggest questions facing the Packers’ top pass rusher, who will play a major role in Pettine’s defense this year?
