Quarterbacks (2)

(1) Aaron Rodgers

(2) DeShone Kizer

The much-anticipated return of Aaron Rodgers is on the horizon and Packers fans couldn’t be any more excited. The last time Rodgers came back from an injury, which is when he broke his collarbone during the 2013 season, he ended up winning the NFL MVP award in the ensuing season in 2014.

The Packers didn’t trade one of their best defensive backs this offseason, to the Browns, to grab DeShone Kizer just to keep three quarterbacks on the roster. They went out and got a quarterback who they believe has plenty of potential to serve as Aaron’s backup.

They saw what Hundley had to offer last season, when he stepped in for the injured Aaron Rodgers for over half of the season. What they saw was a quarterback that was not ready to handle NFL defenses, even after learning McCarthy’s offense behind Rodgers for three seasons.

Hopefully, the Packers are able to find a trade partner to get something for Hundley, if not I don’t see Hundley making it to the 53-man roster. He may be kept around during the preseason, if a trade partner is not found, just to fill a spot, but I believe once cuts roll around that he will be one of those cuts.
