Tight ends (3)

(14) Jimmy Graham

(15) Marcedes Lewis

(16) Lance Kendricks

No position group is set in stone, but if I had to choose one position group on this team that was the closest, it would be the tight ends.

The Packers went out and got a massive target for their all-world quarterback when they picked up Jimmy Graham in free agency. In the limited time Graham and Rodgers have shared at voluntary OTAs, it seems as if chemistry between the two is building fast. Players, coaches, and fans alike are all hoping this big free agent tight end signing turns out to be much more fruitful than the tight end signing prior to the 2017 season of Martellus Bennett.

Marcedes Lewis was another great signing at the tight end position in my book, especially with the lack of blocking skills between Graham and Kendricks. Lewis is an extremely effective blocker, who according to Pro Football Focus, was the highest-rated blocking tight end in the NFL last year. Not only is he an elite blocking tight end, but he is still able to stretch the field and adds value in the receiving game in the middle of the field and in the red zone.

Lance Kendricks will be battling some UDFA tight ends for the third spot, but I don’t see any that can match what Kendricks has to offer. Kendricks has plenty of NFL experience and is a fairly good receiver, who I believe has not been utilized correctly so far as a Packer.
