Packers: Predicting Week 1 starters at each position
Who will start for the Green Bay Packers at each position in the season opener?
The Green Bay Packers begin training camp in just over a week. With the 2018 season under two months away, who will start for the Packers in Week 1?
It’s been a busy offseason in Green Bay, but a long one. After a disappointing 2017 season that saw the team’s almost decade-long playoff streak come to an end, a number of changes were made across the board.
The Packers made a change at general manager, promoting Brian Gutekunst to replace Ted Thompson. Mike McCarthy made a number of changes to his coaching staff, including hiring a new defensive coordinator, Mike Pettine, and bringing back Joe Philbin to be the offensive coordinator.
Gutekunst then got to work on the roster, focusing primarily on defense. He brought in three new names at cornerback — Tramon Williams in free agency, and Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson early in the draft.
Gutekunst also made the difficult decision to move on from veterans like Jordy Nelson and Morgan Burnett, who have both played key roles for the team for a number of years.
Who will start in Week 1 for the new-look Green Bay Packers? Let’s go position-by-position and look at who could start against the Chicago Bears on September 9.
