Green Bay Packers safety Kentrell Brice and linebacker Jake Ryan reportedly suffered injuries at training camp on Monday.

The Packers had got through the first week of training camp without too many injury concerns.

But during Monday’s practice, both Kentrell Brice and Jake Ryan went down.

Brice was the first to get injured, and was carted off, according to Mike Spofford of Packers.com.

It’s currently unclear what the injury was, but the fact he needed to be carted off doesn’t sound too encouraging.

Ryan was also carted off later in the day. Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel had the news on Twitter.

Losing either player would be bad news. Both Brice and Ryan were in contention for starting jobs in Mike Pettine’s defense this season. Let’s hope neither injury is season-ending.

Defensive lineman Mike Daniels was also injured on Monday, but he was able to return to the field, according to Pete Dougherty of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. That potentially indicates he was dealing with a minor injury.

Michael Cohen noted on Twitter that Daniels “seemed to be moving fine”, and was “smiling and laughing” in the locker room after practice. Daniels may have avoided a serious injury, which would be great news for the entire Packers defense. He’s one of the most important players on the entire roster and will play a key part in Mike Pettine’s defense this year.

We’ll await further updates as the day goes on.

If Brice is out for significant period of time, could Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst look to sign a veteran free agent? Kenny Vaccaro and former Pro Bowler Eric Reid are still available. But it all depends on how serious Brice’s injury is.

It’s impossible to complete training camp without losing a few players to injury.

Let’s just hope the injuries from practice today are minor. Stay tuned.
