Wildcard round

AFC: Steelers (4) def. Chiefs (5)

AFC: Jaguars (3) def. Texans (6)

NFC: Vikings (5) def. Rams (4)

NFC: Falcons (6) def. Giants (3)

Here we are. It’s playoff time.

Four teams sit out of the wild-card round with a bye week. In the AFC, the number one seed belongs to the New England Patriots (of course), with the Los Angeles Chargers securing the second seed.

In the NFC, the New Orleans Saints secure top spot with the Green Bay Packers finishing second in the conference.

In the first round of playoff games, the AFC North-winning Pittsburgh Steelers advance at home against the Kansas City Chiefs in what would be an entertaining, high-scoring game.

Quite the opposite in the other AFC contest, a battle of two great defenses. Like last year, the Jacksonville Jaguars are set to make a deep playoff run, eliminating the Houston Texans.

The Minnesota Vikings book a trip to Lambeau Field by beating the Los Angeles Rams in what could be one of the games of the season.

Finally, the Atlanta Falcons send home the New York Giants to make the divisional round for the third straight year. The Giants will be much improved this season, good enough to win the NFC East, but the Falcons have a roster strong enough to return to the Super Bowl. Even on the road, Atlanta gets it done.
