AFC East

1. Patriots (12-4)

2. Jets (7-9)

3. Bills (6-10)

4. Dolphins (4-12)

Make it 10 division titles in a row for the New England Patriots, which would be their 16th in the past 18 seasons. That is simply incredible.

As long as Tom Brady is playing at an elite level — and even at 41 years old there has yet to be a sign that’s about to change — the Patriots will dominate not only the division, but the entire AFC.

Brady can’t go on forever (or at least I don’t think he can), but in the short term he’ll continue to lead the Patriots deep into the playoffs.

The interest in this division is with the battle for second place. The New York Jets and Buffalo Bills both invested high draft picks on quarterbacks in April’s draft. Both Sam Darnold and Josh Allen will play important roles in making the Jets and Bills regular contenders in this division in the coming years. The future may belong to these two young quarterbacks, but for now this is Tom Brady’s division.

The Miami Dolphins surprisingly didn’t make a change at quarterback, and I don’t see them winning many games this year.

It’s the same old story in the AFC East. Yet again, Brady and the Patriots win the division title by Christmas and ease into the postseason.
