Packers: 5 things to watch in preseason opener against Titans
What are the top five things to watch in the Green Bay Packers’ preseason opener?
The wait for Green Bay Packers football is finally over.
On Thursday night, the team kicks off its preseason against the Tennessee Titans at Lambeau Field, exactly one month before the regular season opener against the Chicago Bears.
It’s been a long offseason, as it effectively began back in December when the Packers were officially eliminated from playoff contention.
The Packers will be two weeks into training camp once the Titans visit Lambeau. There’s already been a lot of promising reports coming out of camp, and also some bad news, including Jake Ryan‘s season-ending injury.
But before we get to Week 1 or the announcement of the final 53-man roster, the Packers have four preseason games, the opening two coming at home.
All offseason we’ve discussed how the rookies and free agent signings will fit into the roster, but now we get to see them all in action. The next four weeks won’t be about the team’s stars like Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams, or many of the starters. The majority of the snaps will go to the young players, and those competing for a spot on the roster.
But what are the top five things to watch when preseason gets underway this Thursday evening? Let’s begin.
