Quarterbacks (3)

Aaron Rodgers, DeShone Kizer, Brett Hundley

Right now it’s tough to call the backup quarterback competition. DeShone Kizer was the pick of the quarterbacks in the team’s second preseason game against Pittsburgh, but Brett Hundley outplayed him in the opener.

Kizer’s 149-yard, two-touchdown performance last week was good to see, but Hundley has also made some improvements from last year and deserves to be in strong consideration for a roster spot.

For all of those reasons, I have the Packers keeping three quarterbacks on the roster to start the season.

Running backs (4)

Jamaal Williams, Ty Montgomery, Devante Mays, Aaron Ripkowski

The Packers could be a little thin at running back.

Jamaal Williams injured his ankle in the second preseason game, and it’s currently unclear whether he’ll be ready to go in Week 1. Third-string running back Devante Mays is also out with a hamstring injury, as is second-year Aaron Jones. Also, Jones will miss the opening two games due to suspension.

Currently, the only two healthy running backs in this roster prediction are Ty Montgomery and fullback Aaron Ripkowski. If Williams isn’t back in time for the season opener, Green Bay will likely keep another running back.

The Packers signed two running backs last week, Bronson Hill and LeShun Daniels, which potentially shows there is some concern about Williams and Mays’ availability for the season opener.
