Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb is worth drafting in fantasy based on his ADP.

Davante Adams and Jimmy Graham are popular names in fantasy football this season. And for good reason. Adams is the Green Bay Packers’ number one receiver and has 22 touchdowns over the past two seasons. Graham is a big free agency addition and could be a dominant red zone target for the Packers.

One player not getting talked about enough is Randall Cobb.

Without Jordy Nelson, Cobb could see an increase in targets this season as the team’s best pass catcher in the slot.

With that in mind, it’s surprising how low he is being selected in fantasy drafts. According to Fantasy Football Calculator, Cobb’s average draft position has him being selected 96th overall, which is the 11th pick in the eighth round in a 12-team league.

For a player with Cobb’s upside, that’s excellent value.

Let’s not forget that in 2014 Cobb was a WR1. He finished eighth at the position in PPR formats, according to Fantasy Pros, catching 91 passes for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns.

He hasn’t been able to replicate those numbers since, but he enters a good situation this year.

In 2015, the Packers were without Jordy Nelson. The entire offense struggled as a result. The following season, Nelson and Adams saw the majority of targets, which limited Cobb’s opportunities. The same was true again in 2017, and the injury to Aaron Rodgers further complicated things.

But without Nelson, Cobb could see an increase of targets in the middle of the field. Jimmy Graham will get his share of the football, but he’ll be most effective in the red zone.

Considering the round Cobb is regularly being drafted in, he offers great upside with a relatively safe floor.

Last year Cobb was effectively the third wide receiver on a team with Brett Hundley at quarterback for half the season. He also missed two games. But he still finished as the 35th ranked wide receiver in PPR scoring, according to Fantasy Pros. He finished ahead of Amari Cooper, Rishard Matthews, Sammy Watkins and even Nelson.

The last time Rodgers was healthy all season, he threw the ball Nelson’s way 152 times. That’s a lot of targets to be spread around this year. Some will go to Graham, but not all.

Cobb is still a very talented player, and he should offer a reliable floor as at least a WR3 option in fantasy this year. And he could finish much higher than that.
