The Green Bay Packers have reportedly traded Brett Hundley to the Seattle Seahawks.

When the Packers traded for DeShone Kizer earlier this offseason, it felt like the team would move on from Hundley.

But after his excellent play in preseason, Hundley would be too difficult to cut. Instead, the Packers have been able to find a trade partner in the Seahawks.

Adam Schefter and Rob Demovsky of ESPN reported the news on Twitter on Wednesday morning.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Packers will receive a sixth-round pick in next year’s draft.

Somewhat surprisingly, trading Hundley won’t free up a roster spot at another position. According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, the team will keep three quarterbacks, with Rodgers, Kizer and Tim Boyle.

Does this mean there isn’t room for an additional wide receiver like Jake Kumerow? Will they keep one less cornerback following the Lenzy Pipkins trade?

What we do know is that Green Bay is stocking up on picks in next year’s draft. It already has two first-rounders after the draft day trade with New Orleans this past April. Now general manager Brian Gutekunst has added another sixth-rounder.

And who knows, maybe Gutekunst has one more trade in mind. Khalil Mack? The Packers certainly have enough draft picks to make a strong offer to the Oakland Raiders. Time will tell.

Green Bay traded up for Hundley in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Three years later the team has traded him for a sixth-round pick. Hundley will now be the backup to Russell Wilson in Seattle.

After struggling as the starter while Rodgers was out injured last season, Hundley has bounced back well with a good preseason. He had played well enough to be the No. 2 behind Rodgers this year.

Kizer has also played well, and the Packers clearly like his potential.
